Owners of Optima Yellow Tops....

I have a 5.5 gen and im looking for a Optima yellow top Battery, but ive gotten two different models. When I called Optima, they told me a D35, but when I called one of their suppliers, they told me that wouldnt work, that I needed the D34/78. Then I read a post about the D75/25..... Anyone know the truth?

Update - I called Optima back and talked to the Tech guy there, but theyre telling me the D35 is the only one that will work. I know for a fact that ive seen thread where guys with 5.5's have the D75/25. Im horribly confused here. Anyone wanna throw in $.02? I mean, are the guys with the D75/25's modifing the terminal leads to make up for the reversed position from stock on the D75/25's?

thanx for any help.

thanx for the reply, but im hoping that someone with the same model year as my car, or at least another 5.5 will tell me what they are using. Im not too sure if the years matter. No one has yet given me a straight answer on this. I swear its the most frustrating thing I have ever researched.

well here's what the d34 looks like in the bay......pep boys told me that was the standard size for the YT

the battery is shorter than the OEM by a bit, so the threads on the OEM battery hold down didn't reach , so i raised it with a piece of mdf for now...I believe the Red Top comes in a size identical to the OEM

No problem. Unless your electrical connections are totally different and are on opposite sides of the car, theres no difference.

I have a red top under the hood and a yellow top n the trunk. The yellow tops are a little shorter than stock...so the factory hold down brackets don't work unless u sit something n the tray to sit it on. Just go to a parts store...i'm sure they'll let u put one n to see if it fits b4 u buy one.

i'm confused. i don't get the question. top left is audio, lower left is OEM power. top right is split for thicker ground and OEM ground. that eventually got replaced. so now that OEM ground is grey as well.
