Rearview mirror w/ monitor and camera

Hey guys, I need some help. I have a 2005 Maxima and I just picked up the Savv LBM-S5000 (Rearview w/ monitor) and a camera. And would like to install it sometime this week. Just want to know if anybody has done this install. Or if anybody knows how I can run the wires through the roof and into the back. i.e. How do I remove the roof panel or whatever you call it and run the cable to the back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Where is it that you plan on mounting the camera that you need to go through the roof panel? It would be much simpler to go down through the door sills.

I have to agree with PearlMax. It would b much easier to run the wires (tucking them under the front of the headliner) to one side of the car and come down behind the door post, and then n2 the trunk.

Not sure where I want to put the camera yet but most likely somewhere behind the rear windshield, either in the back with the brake light or above it. I don't want to drill a hole yet if I don't have to, plus at this time I do not have tint. I'll connect everything and test it out to see what is the best spot to put it.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will definitely tuck the wires under the front headliners to the passenger side of the car and run it back and down towards the rear somewhere. I'll figure it out somehow. Thank god I don't have to run it through the headliner, I would of gone crazy trying to figure out how to run it and take the headliner apart.

Thanks again guys! Will try to install it sometime this week and post pics.

If it was going in high on the rear window then I could see doing it. Not super difficult if you ran it along the edge by removing the gasketing.

Hey guys! One last question. Where should I run the power wire to? The battery or somewhere in the cabin? It's a very thin wire with a small **** fuse and I don't think that I need to run it to the battery. Are there any suggestions? And the instructions said to run one of the wires to the reverse light in the fuse box and not run it to the rear reverse lights and splice them? How come? Is it because, they don't want me to run a wire all the way to the back? I'm a little confused about that part too.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
