How do you cut 4 ga?
How do you cut 4 ga?
Hey all,
I did most of my wiring today. I have to work tomarrow, but I should be able to finish hooking everything up wednesday weather permitting. Anyway, I tried cutting a little piece of the 4 ga. power wire with some bolt cutters (this is the only way to do it I could think of), but it mangled it pretty badly. How do you guys do it? What tool do I need and where do I get it? Thanks.

uhhh... I just always use a box cutter(utility knife), CAREFULLY BTW!!! I'm not sure if this is the right way, but it always works for me. Just go at it for a little while and you will get a nice clean cut.

This is true...and I used Craftsman for a while, and still do for a lot of stuff, but there are many things where once I used the Snap On I couldnt go back, like the ratcheting screwdriver, panel popper, etc. And the Snap-On truck comes to me at work, so I dont have to bring broken tools to Sears
I wont deny that a lot of Snap On stuff is completely ridiculous, toolboxes etc, even some smaller stuff, and that craftsman is pretty good quality compared to almost everything else, but if you do a large quantity of installs, Snap On or Matco or Mac are where its at for the speciality tools

Works like a charm for everything including 0Awg. Cuts like butter. The rest of my collection is mostly Klein and Snap-On. Filling two large tool chests and tons of various other locations. LoL

^ agreed.
I would use those style cutters, they work great and cut anything, but if I were to use em, Id also want a 2nd pair that cut flush against a surface
Ive got these right now, they work okay, theyre a brand new part from Snap On and they take a little while to perfect, not to mention they were on backorder forever.

I have a similiar set from MAC that cuts flush. I love new tools all the time though. Keep in mind I also do all my own A/V for the Home as well as my alarm system, networking, phone lines,cable,electrical,etc...

its a big house for sure but at this campus its about average. 35 guys live in it. also it only looks good because we painted the sucker last semester. we tried to paint it orange and blue but the president of UF stopped us.
trust me ryan he will. ive spoken to 2 players i know on the team and its a whole new ball game. urban came and spoke for 20 min and i was very very impressed by him. if he left right now id be happier with him doing nothing than the zooker messing everything up here thats how much faith i have in this guy.
