my trouble

hooked up my mmats d200hc today, at 1 ohm. it barely made the subs move, even with the gain all way up. the gain works, the frequency **** works, the amp works, just very short of power. -these are supposed to knock the dust caps off of high end subs, at only 1/3-1/2 gain!!! its been my experience with amps that they will either work, or not. anybody got clues?
on another note, twice today i tried starting my car, and it wouldnt start, not even turn over. the dash lights were dim, so i had to pop the trunk and disconnect and reconnect the ground wire, then it would start. maybe time for a yellowtop.

I have a RF Power 2001BD running @ 2ohms. I have a redtop under the hood, and a yellowtop n the trunk. 0/1ga wire between the batteries, and 4ga running to the amp. I have had no starting problem since i have had the setup. It still pulls enough power to dim my headlights (when they're on bright), but i think i could resolve that problem by adding a farad cap. Did u mean the mmats DHC2200? If so i would consider adding a battery n the trunk. Another thing...have u made sure ur box is air tight??

na, just had them connected free-air parallel, at 1 ohm. its mmatsd200hc. rated at 200w rmas at 4ohm, but 1200w at 1ohm. it was just barely dumping the subz, but i heard horror stories of these amps literally frying speakers to death, and at only 1/2 gain...
as i mentioned above, my car is acting funny when starting. it wont turn over. i dont know if its due to a bad battery or what. but i heard a weird sound just left of the steering wheel in the dash, around the fuel needle area, like a harsh buzz.

is your amp constantly on? something is draining your battery.

I agree sounds like the amp is constantly drawing power. Also try one of the other outputs from the HU, maybe a bad/low sub out?

i dunno... i switched the output from sub to the rear outs when i put my 6.5's in back. The Usamp was powering the treos before it was powering my 6.5's. i dont know how it could be draining my battery, because it's a close circuit(I hope!)..drilling into the frame and grounding can't leave an open circuit..i hope.
but I just want this damn amp to start kicking, cuz I need bass yall!! I open it up, and i see a little pot with an adjustment screw on top...tomorrow i will connect it and mess with that internal pot screw and see what happens. maybe it is set too low, or maybe(I hope) my battery is dying. But if it was in fact dying, i'd probly not be able to crank the motor..

there was a pot on the motherboard that i tweaked until proper output was achieved. stupid thing is, i did this while running it. one of the transformers(which looks like a hostess donette) sent a spark into my hand and paralyzed it for a few seconds lol.
but im good to go now.
