Eclipse AVN5435 installed by Don ****PICS****

ok, finally i got some bling bling on my ICE.

Sorry no pics yet folks, as the project is not done yet.

Don had only enough energy to install the viper791 and the avn5435 /w sirius.
Which btw, took around 5 hours, the guy is a monster, working 5 hours with no breaks.

Anywayz, after around 1 week with the new AVN this is what i feel about it so far:

Great sound quality (even with the bose speakers).

looks pretty stock, so less chance of theft.

i'm loving the sirius radio (although no BASEBALL GAMES, WTF? XM does have baseball, but sirius only got nba, nfl and nhl)

Navigation is really good, although the live guidance don't work at all (Sacrificing this for Movies on the go, since the live guidance only works when the speed pulse is connected, oviously you can't watch dvd on the move if you connect this).

This is not much of an issue, since i don't need someone to tell me "make a right" "make a left" etc
But most of the open areas (that is no tall buildings or trees) the navi works good.

The best feature of this unit compared to the AVIC n1 or n2, is that you can actually listen to a CD or MP3 cd while the navi is on, since it has 2 slots, 1 for DVD and 1 for CD so you are not tied with radio only when navigating.

As for DVD quality it is fairly good in terms of visuals, and exellent in sound quality.

i'm loving the 9 band EQ and the DSP (watching DVD on theather mode is amazing)

i'll try to get some pics once the project is complete 100%

Kudos to Don for such an exellent knowledge and patience when it comes to car audio.

This guy is alike a guru on car audio, first time i met him he gave me a 3 hour lesson.

i would definitelly tell all you boyz in the east coast, GO TO DON for audio!

Great price, neat-freak installation, and willing to go the extra mile to make you happy!

A little OT, but I got a question for you, Don. When you do these installs on
Maximas with steering wheel audio controls, do you (or have you) installed
the PAC SWI-X adapter? If so, where did you put the IR transmitting LED?

Thanks.

I havent used/installed one of those for quite some time, so Id be the wrongperson to ask. Although with Eclipses new lineup steering controls are already build in. Its a simple two wire job and no need to worry about extra modules or sensors. This is once the software is finally finished...

oh **** really?

i thought you didn't connect the speed pulse in order to play dvd while driving, but i guess i got by the Don, hehe

hmmm, i think you gotta check the speed pulse connection then, cuz whenever i'm on navi it says "CHECK SPEED PULSE"

And the voice only works when i first set-up the address and push "guide" and when i arrive at destination.

It never tells me to turn anywhere, hell i gotta stop and check the navi sometimes, since the GPS signal doesn't work all the time, so around 30% of the time the navi takes around 5 minutes to update current location.

I thought this was normal, LOL.

as for the pics, sorry fellas, i'm at work now and this work comp ain't got access to any resizing programs.
i'll resize when i get home.

Btw Don is it ok Tomorrow around 3-4 pm?

i'll leave the car with you tomorrow andpick it up maybe friday or saturday.

Please let me know if that's ok with you.

Yes you can, he was confused with grounding the parking brake wire.

Pearl96Max,

I guess I was lied to by an installer he told me that all 05 model dvd players have that moving sensor so you couldn't ground them. I know about pioneer doing this with their D2 or N2 I don't remember the model. Could you shed some light on this subject?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Ive sold/installed about 16 '05 AVNs so far, not one had a problem watching movies while driving. So yes they either lied to you, or had no clue what they were talking about.

The N2/D2 grounding the e-brake wire will Not work.
