What happened to these brands

Hey Guys,

I used to be into custom car stereo stuff when I was in HS back in 97.

What ever happened to these brands? I hear no one mention them anymore?

Phoenix Gold
Precision Power (PPI)
Autotek
a/d/s (I think)
MB Quart
Dynaudio
Focal

That's because you may only be looking at this particular audio forum, and you're probably only checking out CC and Best Buy.

Take a look around the http://www.caraudio.com and http://www.elitecaraudio.com forums and you'll hear plenty of these names.

I have MB quart and phoenix gold components in my car right now. I am getting an 800 watt phoenix gold amp tomorrow. My buddy has a/d/s components and a huge precision power amp. Trust me amn, the sh*t's still out there. Those are all quality brands and are pretty reliable to this day. Now people really like Diamond Audio for components, and MB quart is financial jeopardy ( they got bought out by Rockford Fosgate and then dropped subsequently and are now filing bankruptcy in Germany). MB Quart's stuff is getting harder to find on ebay. I love their speakers and I'm gonna have to get some more soon. If you want another great car audio forum go to http://soundoff.phoenixgold.com/ . Awesome advice on fine tuning your amps, wiring help, used equip classifieds, etc.

almost all of those brands are good brands but yeah each place has its own favorite brands.

I still currently sell 5 of those brands. Not as much as DA,Rainbow,Arc,Alumapro,etc..but I still ocassionally sell em.

Yeah... this forum tends to stay with Adire, Kicker, RF, and now Memphis.

Still waiting on Sprinty to say yay or nay on my user text.

PG is still doing well. Their new comp set is made by morel and i hear it kicks ***.
PPI got bought out and their new stuff is queer.
Autotek is still midlevel.
a/d/s is still around, just not as popular as it was.
MB Quart still makes good stuff, but there are more brands that match its performance nowadays.
Dynaudio still kicks ***.
Focal is still making good stuff, still expensive though
