I was wondering what the prices for the Arc Audio 2100-XXK and the 4050-XXK typically are. Also, are these amps pretty close to their advertised rating, or are they underrated? I'm thinking that I see these amps in my future .

Well, it's not an XXK, but my ARC KAR 400.4 is underrated by about 20watts/channel. ARC lists it as "50x4@4ohms" and a professional reviewer/tester found it put out just above 70x4@4ohms. Don't know if the same deal is true with other ARC amps, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were all a bit underrated.

You'll see he lists a 40% better output than the ARC rating. Impressive indeed.

 

the 4050 will do 70+rms per ch/~120rms 2ohm stereo per ch

the 2100 does a clean ~120+rms per ch/400 bridged

....thats give or take-all amps are not created/test equal even if they are identical

 

2100XXK = $500ish
4050XXK = $700ish

Supremley underrated. I am going to be running my system off of a single 4150...can't wait!!!!

 

There are a number of Arc dealers in Ca...I would suggest going onto their site and looking for a local dealer if you wanted to...although Don is indeed the resident Arc guru.
