all right gang a few questions about amp placement+rear deck
i was wondering if i need extra wiring if i want to put my amp under the passenger seat..the reason i want to do this is because there is a lot of audio theft around my area and i dont want it to get stolen...so is there any problems i would run into if i want it under the seat? it might get more air and cool down faster since in the trunk there is no ac.
and my second question is..in the rear deck of my car theres a little square box that i want to cut out..so the bass could go inside the cabin and potentially lower the rattling of the car a little since more bass will go inside the cabin
any thought or comments on either of these ideas would be great appreciated

for the rear deck all you have to do is take out the stock sub, and there is an opening, but as previously stated through alot of threads , you might get some rattling back there and its a good idea to sound deaden the thing some how. For the installation of the amp under the seat, no extra wiring is necessary in terms of how many but how much meaning more speaker wire to actually goto the sub. the good part is less power wire which happens to be most expensive besides quality RCAs...also if your amp is compact in size Id say go for it.

i have the GXE so no sub in the rear deck..just a plastic/mesh part...i will eventually sounddeaded it..but having the port/hole on top would get more bass inside the cabin and thats what i want
umn id say "porting" that small hole is not worth it especially with a big system. i do not know if every single 5th gen came with it, but the cutout in the metal of the rear deck is the real problems for our cars. i guess nissan got lazy (read cheap) and just made 1 piece back there regardless if it was a gxe or an SE without the bose package. if that metal cutout was not there no air would get into the rear deck and cause it to be such a problem. i used to stuff a big towel in the metal square and it worked real well but i felt it was ghetto. so instead i did the foam trick for the rear deck, ported the square, and sound deadened. if i could do it all over again I'd just plug up the metal cutout and be done with it.

lol thats true..but i dont play too much golf, so i dont have to worry about that..maybe i won't make the hole there..but how about the amp under the seat idea..what are your thoughts on that man?
you guys lucky you can fold your rear seat down...i can't with my 3rd gen. so i just took out this plastic trim thingy behind my arm rest and now it vents right into the trunk. it feels kinda cool feeling the bass pressure coming out of the hole
