adding a 4ch

I'm about to put in a 4ch amp and I was just wondering if I could do this or if I should just run speaker wire to the speakers. I was wondering if I could run speaker wire from the amp to the wires on the hu that connect to speakers instead of running speaker wires to my door. Will I fry the wires if I try this? Sorry for the newb question I haven't used a 4ch before.

I wouldn't recommend that. It's a b#tch but you need to setup the 4 channel properly. Do it right and you'll only have do it only once. I would put bullet connectors on your HU wire harness and that will an easy connection for anoy other times you need to run something off the deck. A four channel at 2 ohm stable can run 8 speakers so I doupt you'll need your deck powering speakers again. Besides, taking the door sills off and maybe the rear seat are very easy to do maximas.

no dont be lazy. It may be ok for very very underpowred speakers like 15 watt peak. You will need to run new wire it is not hard at all. Buy 16 gauge speaker wire for your new speakers. Do you have components ? or Coaxials ? If you have components make sure you put the crossover under the rug in the back seat(where mine are) Dont mount them in the door panel with the speaker. Using small gauge wires will run the risk of a fire especially if your pushing 50 x 4 or more rms with your 4 channel.

Its a 300/4 so I'm either gonna use 12 gauge or speaker wire. I have coaxial but I might go component because ultimate electronics is going out of business in my area so they're slashing prices.
