Seat heater or cruise control switch for screen

I was thinking about getting my hands on an extra seat heater switch or a cruise control switch. I was planning on using the switch to control the power on my monitor. However I am not sure how the switches are wired or if it will work? Has anoyone does this before?

Not a good idea. Use the cigarette lighter and add a switch. Route the switch to the dash on the dead area near the dimmer switch for the gauges and you are all set. Much easier and it is a switched power source that only comes on when the car is started.

Do you want the switch to look stock?

Yes, that was the whole idea behind using a nissan switch. I was planning on placing it in the slot between my existing seat heating switches. I would look totally factory. I am going to pick up a cruise control switch and give it a whirl. I will make a post on how it turns out.

Keep me updated on your progress. Would really like to know how it gets wired.

Baracus - any update on this? Can you advise on how to wire it up so the switch works? Thanks.

I finally got my hands on a cruise control switch. I will rip out the stereo / screen sometime next week to test out the switch. I will let you know if I get it to work.

The seat heater switch will work but I don't think the cruise switch will. I am just waiting for my new JVC DV5100 and then I will install it. I will post some pics and info later next week.
