Who here has relocated the climate control in a 5th gen?

For my next tv install project going underway starting tomorrow night, I will be relocating the climate control to either one of two places...

1.) where the map lights/sunglass holder is
-OR
2.) in the center console.

I am not too sure what to do at this point, but either way I am moving the digi climate control, and putting the radio in place of it, and installing the the tv in the double din slot.

this will be a huge project, for on top of all that, i will be installing a car computer in my glove box with GPS. i have planned this project out for quite some time, but there only remains this for an issue. i have taken one week off from work so i can dedicate the time to this project. if anyone has any input, advice, sugestions, or comments, please let me know! thanks..

Ive definitely thought about doing this more than once. I hadnt thought about the sunglass holder as a spot for it, but that would be awesome if you could get it to fit there. I kind of doubt you will get it in there though, but the center console shouldnt be too bad, just extending wires and making it look nice.

hmm cranston huh?...my grandparents live in warwick, and if you get the a/c controls up there, it might be time for a visit to them, or you might have to send me your fiberglass mold so i can do it

not too sure, But I am going to find out. tomorrow marks the day in which I will start this huge project. i just hope 5 days will be enough to complete it.

when i built this, it took me a full 5 days, so i am guessing that i will need more time since this project will be a lot more labor intensive.

I will take pics as I make progress in this project. i may even do a write up if it come out good enough.

Update...

Well, I have been working on this pretty much all day today... and I really have not done too much.

I am trying to figure out the best way to do this install. I am taking my time, just like I do with any of my projects. Below are some pictures I took really quick. I have spent the bulk of my time in fabrication, and discovering the best way to secure everything in place in preparation for fiber glassing. I have constructed some dummy molds out of plastic/cardboard, but I decided that was not the best way to go about it. I think I have a good idea how to do this, however I will post my idea when it is in the works/more concrete.

Pics:

used a dremel to modify the climate control face plate:

using bottom of face plate for a template for the radio. the radio bezel will be molded into the faceplace.

climate control will be like this:
