fuse on power wire 2 the battery

fuse on power wire 2 the battery

i read somewhere that they said u should put a fuse on the power wire that u run 2 the battery, does any1 know how 2 do that????

Strip the end of the wire running from the amp to the battery, insert it into the fuse hodler and clamp down, then do the same thing to the other end and run it to the (+) of the battery post, attach with ring terminal.

No prob, man...just make sure you put the fuse somewhere that it may easily be accessed from in the event the fuse goes *pop*

Can't remember why, but I was once told that it is best to fuse as close as possible to the battery. Course maybe cause that's a fairly accessible location...

yes, fuse within 18" of the battery. i usually do it at about 12". you do this to protect the rest of your car/system from damage/fire. don't forget to disconnect the ground cable from the battery, first. i usually don't put the fuse into the fuseholder until the very end.

haha, could have saved me $20 3 months ago, if I had read and thought about that post. Good advice.
