What kind of enclosure is it in [size, ported vs. sealed, location, direction of sub (towards rear/front)? The XXX is a very good sub, and as long as the audiobahn is capable of putting out those numbers, it should be getting pretty loud. Is it not moving much, or is it not very loud from within the car [or both]?

I'm assuming you have the gains and xover set correctly on the amp.

Oooh! You usually don't want to use a generic bandpass enclosure. I'll try to take a look at those specs, but I'm betting that you'll get the most bang for the buck, but replacing it with a ported enclosure tuned to around 35 Hz.

Your best bet would be to build one yourself to the company's specs. If you don't have the time or tools try to find someone local to you that is willing to build one for a reasonable price.

The bandpass box is making u not like that sub. A sub is only as good as the enclosure its n. I wouldn't recommend a pre-fab box. Go to the www.reaudio.com and get the specs they recommend and then take those dimensions to a local stereo shop and get them to build u an enclosure, or either build one urself.

What Audiobahn amp do u have?? Personally I would not buy audiobahn, but their higher priced amps r decent i guess.

Ported. Generally speaking, sealed is for SQ-oriented subs whereas ported is is for your SPL weirdos .

It would probably sound great in either, but the ported box will take up more space. If you have the space you'll get more output in a ported box, but if space is a premium for you, sealed would probably be best.

Ummmm...NO. You will be better of using a smaller ported box than a large sealed box for this sub.

oh cmon you know youve seen ported setups with stellar SQ. i'm no metal head so those double kicks are irrelevant to me

I don't follow your comment. I said, if you have the room, ported will give you more output, but if you don't have room, sealed boxes are smaller, and would probably work better for you. As for the small ported box vs. large sealed box, I guess it's relative to how small [and big] you're talking about and what you want from the system.

ive read if anything the XXX needs a larger than the spec sealed box to produce the low end it should in a sealed box. IMO i take a bigger than spec sealed box over a smaller than spec ported box. gotta love the sick low end a big sealed box gives.

What gauge wire r u running to ur amp? Have u upgraded ur electrical system any? I think it has more to do with the enclosure than anything, but those r somethings to look into. If u listen to a lot of Rap I would say get a ported enclosure built to RE's specs.

If you really dont wanna build a box, takea look at subzone.com. They are the only decent pre fab boxes I have yet to see, online anyways. You can even prolly have a org memeber build it for you or help you come up with the plans so all you have to do is cut and put together.
