Connecting iPod to Pioneer head unit...options...
I have a Pioneer P80MP and they do make an iPod control interface for the head unit I have, but I've heard very mixed reviews on it. Here's what it is:

But my question is...
How is the sound quality just using the line out on the iPod and then just wiring it up to an auxiliary output on the head unit. Something like this:

I wanna know if anyone has done this and what kind of results you got.
Audio quality
Easy of use
etc.
Also, if I do the second option, to listen to the iPod, would I just change the source to one of the AUX outputs?

those links dont take you to the specific item your talking about, but if the second one is for the aux output adapter, then yes, you would switch the source to AUX, but you would have to control the ipod, unlike the dedicated ipod interface where you can control it directly through the HU
