60sq feet of Sound Deadening...

60sq feet of Hushmat is now in my car. Who would have thought that much would really be needed. All 4 doors, the floorboard, trunk, decklid and license plate. My friend said it looked like a Maxima blew up in his garage. No seats in the car right now. Pretty crazy huh. My friend is installing the Focal KP-165 components and rear speakers right now. I can't wait to get off work to see it...

I only did multiple layers on my doors and a bit in the trunk, everything else was single layered.

I am supposed to get with Jeremy and create a work log for my car. He is currently working on his site. Everything I have done will be available there. All I will have to do is post a link and/or link the pics. His server will allow me to link. Sorry it has been so long. Between school, work and the car my free time has been limited. I will see what we can put together in the meantime.

Chris

That was the best part. I am not all about showing those things off. I love those JL amps. 300/2 under the passenger seat and 500/1 under the driver's seat...

Awesome. I only have 216sqft of Stinger Expert Roadkill. Sounds like I might need to place another order and throw another layer on the doors. The most noticable place for me was the C pilars and gas tank. I used to get crazy wind noise from the c-pilars and I could hear the gas sloshing around in the tank. I hear none of that anymore. I have heard of Damplifier but not of Spectrum. Care to share some info on them?

+1. I would have loved to do that but my amps were too big. That was my original intention, to hide them under the seat. It looks great!! I saw you post up that there were Focals going in. What else ya got in that stealth ride?

Gotcha. If you do use it, let us know the results. I am a skeptic of the luquid dampeners. Thanks for the info!

I'll have a full writeup when I do the car in July. Besides, if I ***** out the install with pics, Ant will give me a hefty discount on my next purchase!!!

Direct from the manufacturer, of course. This way you avoid the mark-up from the middleman.

Focal components, focal's in the rear doors, both JL amps and a JL sealed 10W7. It's all about sound quality here. That sealed 10W7 sounds incredible with those components...

Sounds like a winner. I haven't heard too many Focal/JL setups. I have heard all Focal and Focal/ID setups and have always liked them.

I am thinking of installing my amps and subs from my last car, but I am a little concerned about adding weight. How much does 60sq feet of Hushmat weigh.

Think about that. My deadening weiged 70lbs. Now distribute that over a large area...like the trunk.

How much do you weigh? Divide the area your butt sits on.

Chance are, unless you are from ethiopia, sound deadening weight per square foot < your weight per square foot.

If you have to ask, you probably don't want it. It's very heavy.

More deadener = more better in-cabin bass

You haven't heard Flo Mounier play drums, haha

Well...GREAT!!!!

I confirmed that I do have enough space to fit the climate control, monitor, and HU all in one peice. The peice I cut looks kinda hacked, so I am going to get the HS dude to bang me out a better, more professional peice!

I am picking up the amp rack boxes tommorow, so I should have the thing wrapped & glassed (weather pending) by Sunday!
