High output alternator

High output alternator

I have a 97 I30 and through much searching and looking where can i find a high output alternator and how much can i expect to spend?

What kinda power are your pushing to make you need a HO alternator? Thats a big variable.

$300 for a +200amp alt. Sounds like you have $hitty grounding, though...unless you are pushing 2kW, which I doubt.

Also take into consideration how an aftermarket alty affects the other aspects of your car-HO alts can have voltage spikes that can cause damage...And I am not just refering to your dash lights or gauges, but your fuel injection, computer, sensors, all relly on your alternator.

I dont see it being worth it unless you plan on SPL competition...your average 150rms-2000rms SQL systems in our cars are just fine on the stock alty- big power and grounds

im running an zapco 9.0 and 2 zapco 6.0's air ride is going in soon as well as other miscellaneous lighting
