2nd amp wiring help

I have a kicker 350.2 2ch amp powering my 2 10' kicker cvrs, i replaced all my door speakers and bought a new amp for the 4 speakers, do i have to run a new power cable from the battery and a new remote turn on power cable to the new amp, or can i just splice into the power cable and remote cable from my already installed kicker amp to the 500watt 4ch amp? Iam gonna mount it beside the kicker amp.

If you ran 4 ga. as a power wire you could just get a distribution block and wire the new amp in, if you are running 8 ga or less, I would just rerun 4ga with a distrib. block as stated before. You can tap into the remote with no problems, the remote will be good as long as you are not running like more than 4 items, more than that you should run a relay. If you get MTX amps you don't need a remote.

yea, buy a distro block (wal mart has a fused one for like 10 bucks). I agree with maxgtr, upgrade your wiring to 4 guage, and make sure to buy a big inline fuse, not sure on the amperage, but I kept blowing my fuse that was sufficient enough for one amp.

I thought the12volt.com had a good write-up about how important it is to use the correct size wire, and about fusing, but I can't find it. Long story short, use a fused distrobution block and wire size sufficient for the amperage draw from both amps [fused at the battery & at the distro block].
