system stopped working

I was driving home with the subs bumping (of course) when for no apparent reason they started cutting in and out so I immediately pulled over and yanked the fuse out from under the hood so I wouldn't screw anything up. I got home and hooked it back up and turned it on and it kept doing the same thing and I noticed that the Green power light would fade into the red protect light. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

Check to see if any of the outputs touch each other. I had that problem when a little thread touched the opposite polarity. I didn't know what it was until I moved my box. You can also check to see if you have a good + lead. My old 8 ga had some burnt out thread and that would cause an amp to do thatr too if the + charge isn't in a consistant range (12-14volts respectively). I had to find a larger size an ended up getting a 5 ga Walmart kit. So far so good for $24.

how long have u had the setup? i know that i had 2 12" kicker comp vr's and a kicker 600.1 amp and i was using it for practically a year if not more. then 1 day i shorted the amp. turns out the whole time my speakers were wired in a wring series and the amp couldn't handle it. it never went into protection mode though. most amps will do that when they overheat, not getting anough juice, or have the subs wired in wrong. make sure u double check everything.

I've had this setup for about 6 months. I didnt check to see if the amp was hot. and I already have my remote wired to my radio fuse. I think I'lll just hook this system up in another vehicle and if it works I will just rewire it all
