This has been taken a lot further than it ever should have. We have completly whored his thread up. I've been trying to figure out exactly just what part of my post made me come across uneducated? Anyway...the couple of setups with Infinity subs I have experienced, have all been Perfects (both 10.1 & 12.1). Its been a couple of yrs, but I've heard a pair of 10's & 12's n sealed enclosures...i would say 1-1.25^ft per sub. I have also heard a single 12.1 n a vented enclosure. All the above enclosures were built out of 1/2" MDF, which i would consider thick enough since the subs only handle around 350w RMS. Which really isn't enough power for me. I guess you & I can just agree to disagree with each other...its definatly been a heated debate.

Ghost sorry about all this...hopefully u haven't given up on us to help u out with ur system decision.

Yeah I think don was trying to move us over to 12 volt forum to ***** up that forum. But this place is so much funner. Especially when we have a ***** fight going on like this one.

And Ghost... I only have one thing to say about all this... and it's the good old "$hit and opinion statment"

Anything can last a long time if you take care of it. And the right enclosure will make it sound awesome. Find what you like and would want to show off.

well i never intended on people insulting each other of being uneducated and what not, don't see how asking if JL was good or what i should get turned into saying someone was stupid. Anyways i know that a box can make a sub sound good but you can not tell me a $100 subwoofer can sound as good as a $400 dollar subwoofer, there are better designs in the expensive one unlike the cheap one therefore making the $400 dollar sub better, but that can be ruined too if its powered by a sh*tty amp, even then you can get even more detailed into what wires you use and what not. i don't want anything to break rear view mirrors like slickrick, so i'm thinking the 12' W3 on a 300/1 alpine amp will do plenty. i've heard this setup on a sh*tty sealed enclosure and it sounded awesome, so i can only imagine what a well built ported box could do for it

lol... yay i was used in a thread! anyway dont some audiobahn speakers retail for $400...if so i can think if many $100 drivers than have better sq. 1 12 ported with 300 watts is a solid setup if you ask me. your 3rd gen mirror will never break like mine because the 5th gen auto dimming mirror is junk.

True Dat ghost! I think ur original plan with the 2 12w3 or the 1 12w6v2 will b an awesome setup. JL subs r very efficent and don't really need a whole lot of power for them to perform at their best. I'm ready to c some pics...

if you go JL at least port...i wasn't too impressed with 2 w3v2 12's on a 500/1 in a 2k maxima.

planned on porting it, the sealed jl i heard was alright but ported makes it sound so much better, i'm now just trying to find where to buy a W3 at, i've decided on an alpine amp, 300rms/1, its only like 129 on ebay, tweeters in chattanooga suggested that amp for me

IMO I'd buy a w3 authorized or else JL will not fix it. however, that means you will be bent over on the price.

200 plus tax? I would strongly look at an avalanche 12 for that price...its $200 plus shipping and is 10x that speaker IMO.

Sounds like Sound Pro up here. And the overcharge sounds like Hurricane Audio. I didn't have one decent stereo place till Mobile FX came along.

Soundsplinter RL-i10

I could have spent a good amount more on a name brand sub, and still not get the same quality as I did with this sub.

Well, I will be purchasing their RL-p12 pretty soon . It will go in either my car or my wife's car. The 10" sounds very nice though, do not underestimate it because of its size. It can move in and out a good amount .

That may be the problem. Wrong size box for W3s? That'll make any sub sound bad.

i have 2 infinity perfect 10.1s rated at 350 rms each is gettin about 305 according to my amps birth sheet, they are in a sealed fiberlgass encloser with roughly 1 cubic foot, they sound great and they can hit very hard, i have had thses subs for about 3 months now and i have no complaints, i would suggerst them. They are also fairly cheap, i got mine for 120 each

I personally like the M3s better. And like he said, that's overkill. I think you'd like the M3s. I'm going to put up vid clip of my 4 M-Class 12"s. I only have a 500D Memphis amp pushing them right now. So it's not at it's full potential. But it does hit very well.

But I won't have time till later this evening to get all that done. I'm taking pics right now on my lunch break.

Here is the system that I have bought within the last two days for my 97 maxima:

Audiobahn a6004t ($150 eBay) powering
Infinity Kappa 60.5cs components up front ($165 eBay)
Infinity Kappa 62.5i two-ways as real fills ($80 eBay)

Sony XM-2200GTX ($140 eBay) powering
MB Quart PWE 352 ($108 Crutchfield)

Complete cost of system: $643

What do you guys think about the system and the price paid for it?

Not too bad. Not a big fan of Sony. But I bet it does sound nice. When you get a chance check out my new setup. It's a thread close by "Getting there (system)" That way ghostridden can see how I fit 4 12"s.

That system is all that 99% of the population really needs ... should sound perfectly fine to almost anyone's ears.
