has anyone changed their HU and now have crappy reception? can you put a booster on the antenna line? its on both AM and FM

did you replace the speakers along w/ the HU?

The Bose speakers dont seem to work good w/ aftermarket HU.

its not the speakers its the reception... the HU sounds fine when playing a CD or from my AUX input ... reread my question

you need to connect all 3 blue wires in your harness together. this will amplify your reception in your am/fm stations.
this wire is the antenna and remote wire which is need to make your signal stronger. Just connect you fm antenna and the blue wires togehter and you;ll see the difference.

The antenna is built into the rear windshield... along with the rear window defrost.

Makes for much more expensive glass replacement.

So is there a signal-boosting device to attach to the back of the aftermarket HU or not? I'm getting the same lack of reception....my freaking $20 battery-powered boom box with 8 " antenna gets better reception than my car!

you make your sub remote wire and your antenna remote wires all together. see in the wire harness for our cars we doin't have a power antenna which makes this a setup where you must wire all your blue wires remote, antenna and your hu together to get the best reception. again you'll see 2 blue wires coming from your o.e.m harness one is the remote and one is your antenna but you must connect these 2 wires together along with your hu remote and your sub remote wire this will turn ur amps on and give you a strong signal

I have the same annoying problem. I thought it was the HU. Pioneer said their HU reception is one of the best but in the Max, it's junk! WORSE RECEPTION THAN BOSE!

Anyhow, if I go to Radio Shack and get the clips, u think I can clip the blue wires and the antenna wires together? I'm actually confused about which wires are which. I have the Scoche harness.

i have the same harness i have a bose system in my gle and i have a pioneer 860mp great unit with great reception again once you go ahead and place all the blue wires together from your harness and your headunit you;ll see the difference.

i had one blue wire setup to the head unit before and i realize that the reception sux so i changed it up rememberin that its not a power antenna but a built in window antenna so u need the 2 wires from the harness to give u a good signal both for am and fm.

Start a fire???? Its really quite simple guys. Nissan uses a POWERED Diversity antenna system. Without POWER it doesnt work. Like JosMax said, the power antenna wire NEEDS POWER. Plain and simple, no real science to it.
