Using a LOC for RCA's

Where should I use the LOC to get my preouts for the amp? can't I do it in the trunk with the wires to the factory bose sub?? if so, which wires should I splice into??

Well with the 3rd gens, we have to use the signal wires before the amp to get the best sound. But from what I heard, the newer Maxs' you can either go before or after the amp in the trunk.

Connect it to the wires going to the Bose sub after the Bose amp that powers that sub.

Nope, there will be no sound problems. As for colors, Im not sure off the top of my head. The two positive wires should go to the positive wire of the bose sub, and the two negative wires to the negative of the bose sub. An easy way to test is take a 9 volt battery and touch it to the terminals of the bose sub. If the sub moves outward like normal then your polarity according to the battery is correct. If it moves inward then its reversed.
