Wahoo!!! No more ban!

Ok, so here's where we're at: much to my suregrin, the peice started cracking around the climate control so I had to sand out the trim, and fill it back up with a 3M Rigid Two-Parts Plastic Repair Epoxy. After a ton of sanding, we're ready to prime!

Here's how she looks primed...

Hrrrm, but we still have these annoying little pits to fill!

So, here's what I hope will be my FINAL filling step...

With any luck, I will be able to sand this on monday, and GIT-R-DONE!!!

Ok, looks like we're FINALLY nearing the end!!! I got some good advice from dbornotdb (awesome fabricator over on CA.com) He suggested that instead of going back and filling, I just spray the crap out of it with body filler. Last night, I tried using BONDO GOLD to cover the holes, then sanded down the mess (again), and STILL had holes. So, then I used the DB method, AND IT WORKED!!! I have some areas where the primer was a bit too heavy, but no biggie, I can just sand that down. Here's a look at how it's coming along!!!

We're FINALLY nearing the end!!!

Hey Metal, them boys on the "How to fiberglass dvd" sure make this stuff easy. Did you ever invest in an air compressor and a sander?

Negative. But I suspect what is going to happen is that I am going to invest in them, as well as a router, and start my own fabbing buisness on the side. I would probably charge $350 for a painted subwoofer enclosure, $250 for a carpeted one. I could probably just ship them out if I was doing work of .org members, since I have my own max to make the frame in. If I were to do this over again, I would have bought all of that before I started.

FINALLY!

That week for installation is riiight around the corner

PLEASE make sure that your center console is painted bone, not black. Stay with the two tone and keep it bone, after all, that is your accent color.

No don't put a gratuitous emblem. It will just clutter up an otherwise stunning interior!!! Congrats and as always, lots of pics please!

I could, but I'd need do have access to a 3rd gen in order to make the tamplate. It attaches to the dash tae same way the oem one would...through the clips on the shift.
