Bose stereo question....

Hey, guys! I have a friend who has a 98 GLE and he is going to trade it in, while I have a 98 SE with a non-BOSE stereo, so I would like to ask you if it is possible and worth it to switch the systems before he gives it for a trade and what do I need to do this...Any help is appriciated. Thanks a LOT!!!

allthough ive never heard a non bose maxima, i have heard a bose 2k maxima, and i tell ya its nothing special AT all....especially not if u gotta swap in and out.... not too mention wiring of the amp if its seperate like a 2k maxima..... seems too me it would be more of a pita than it would be worthwhile.... my 3 cents......

its easy and i bet you would love it over a non bose system. you need to run turn on wires to all 4 amps with a relay. But youre probably better off buying new stuff but free is free right.

The wiring should already be there, just look for it, then it would be plug and play.

do you have a hayenes manual, or an fsm? the diagram is in there. think of the install like an aftermarket HU with amps. its just that all 4 amps need turn on power so you get switched power and run it to all 4 amps. if you are familiar with car audio it should be cake.
