Ok, I called Kustom Kar Audio. He's gonna start on Jason's kickpanels tomorrow. I told him we had multiple people interested; he said as long as theres 2 more, he'd be willing to make more..

He's estimating that it'll be like $350 with 2 more people.

This is with the 7in Focals (or Dyn, Whitemax?) .. if interested, reply here, or something.. I think he's supposed to email me.

God I so want a pair. Just the thought of them gives me a woody. But unfortunately, I may have to pass, 'cause of not having a job at the moment. I really, really want a pair. (Damn ex-employer!!!) I have a Pentium Pro 200 with 196 megs of ram and a Compaq Armada 266 mhz laptop w\96 megs I'm willing to sell together for $350!

BTW, to everyone else, THESE ARE FOR 5-SPEEDS!!!!!!! We finally have a chance of getting some high quality kicks for us 5-speed guys. I do want to thank Jason and Dave for working this out. To anyone else, if you've been thinking about getting some made, you might want to count your pennys, nickels, and dimes for this one. When will pics be available?

That's okay, I can build them from scrap material. So net cost will be $0.00. Jonathan, which drivers do you want in your kicks?

Dyn's MK240
Might as well squeeze in a Dyn 10" just to make sure I have enough midbass :P
I've been thinking about building some ( I have the time after all) but I just haven't been able to figure out how to build them and still have room for my size 12 foot. I mean, I know they call them "kick pods" but I don't really want to kick them all the time

I'll take a tape measure to work tomorrow to get an idea for the length and width of a 12.

This is a dumb question, and i haven't had a chance to look, but is the footrest a removable block, or is it stamped into the body?

the foot rest in my 3rd gen was just spot-welded ontot he body.. underneath, it was the exact same shape (mirror image) of the right side of the car.

In the 4th gen it is just a little block/triangle of steel. Can be cut out pretty easy.

Jmax, have you had any problems with kicking your pods when shifting quickly?

fear the automagics.. j/p

i'm going to build kicsk for a 3 way system in the very very near future, using fiber glass, i'll be making molds so i could mass produce them and sell em', i could custom them to the diameter of the speakers. but it's for 5th gen.. hrm.. hearing about 7" midbass makes me jealous, mine are only going to be 6.5.. i'm also thinking of getting the 5" utopia woofer for teh doors in teh near future.. or should i go with the shallow dish 10"midbass from illusion? and then mount them into the floor????

Sorry guys.. no can do here... I don't even have time to build my own stuff right now! working 70+ hours, 6 days/week and on sundays I get the rest of my "business" taken care of.. no free time to play with the car now! GRRR.

but later this summer, I might look into something for you guys if you're interested.. I'd of course need a guinea pig car, but slickismax has expressed interest in me helping him do something in his car too. we'll wee what happens.
