Where did you mount your sub boost *****?

I recently bought an amp with a remote bass boost ****. I doubt I will use it much but I figure that I'll go ahead and install it anyway. Im curious where everyone else mounted theirs at. Since I have a GXE, I have a couple of slots under my h/u and I was thinking about drilling a small hole in the back of one of those to run the wire through but Im unsure how I would mount the actual **** in there though. Any suggestions???

mounted mine under the dash, left side of the steering wheel. i predrilled some mounting holes on the dash trim, so it won't crack when i screw on the bracket for the ****.

I disassembled mine and panel mounted it in a spare blank panel below and to the left of the steering wheel. There's two blank panels there.

In my 4th gen...Inside the ash tray ...Close it up to hide it, pop it open to play

Had to take apart the standard houseing that came with my level controller, eventually leaving a ****, and microchippy thing that had the wires coming from it. At that point it was small enough to fit in there (once the removable ash tray part is gone). I unscrewwed the ****, took it off, used a little piece of plexi cut to the size of the ahs tray holder, a little square...drilled a hole in the center, mounted it with hot glue, covered, put **** back on.....

This is where I've had it mounted for quite a while, but I've been thinking of relocating it to where the heated seat buttons are underneath the e-brake handle. This will be easier and more convenient since my right arm is always resting on the arm rest anyway. I'm thinking of relocating the heated seat buttons up in the dash where I can see them (I keep forgetting to turn the passenger seat off).

Wow, thanks for the good ideas everyone. It looks nice up in those spare panels by the steering wheel. How do those things pop out of there?

Carefully use a very thin screwdriver or knife.

Or you can just unclip them from behind, if your hand is small enough.

Damn, both of those panels are filled....one for the cruise control switch, and the other has my warn light for my viper alarm. There is a blank panel on the right side next to my dashlight dimmer that might work if I can even get back there. UPS should deliver the amp tomorrow. I'll have to see what it will take to tear apart the switch for the boost and hopefully it will fit in there.

Move the Viper light to the one next to the dimmer. Then you have a blank panel where you want it.

I wish I had those blank panels next to the e-brake. It would make for a much easier install. I can't figure out why I don't have those since I don't have heated seats...maybe 98-99 is different?

I would attribute it to the fact that Manny's car is a 5th gen? The dash is drastically different.

There are areas of the whole center console assembly that will easily accomidate having a bass control **** through it, not far from the general area that Manny had his mounted in his 5th gen.

Take out the center consile and look under there...there's plenty of room by the cupholders and near why my Automatic shifter is.....
