dynamat in 5th gen needed?

i bought a buncha dynamat thinking i would need it for my 2002 max, after installing the system i don't really hear any rattles and the bass response sounds really good

previously i had used it in my 4th gen and it made a difference, but not the case now

i got component bostons for his and a 12" alluminum sub

anyone use dynamat on their 5th gen with a similar set up?

i listed it for sale in the sale forum if anyone is interested, unless someone changes my mind

uhh your joking right?

I know and have personally installed 6 bulk packs in an 01, and it still rattles like hell. At least throw it in there for road noise purposes.

Just my .02.

Could be all those broken clips. Or maybe the split sheet metal. It might even be the pair of TDX 12's shredding the interior. As soon as I replace all of those broken clips on the rear deck, it should go away.

Use it. It made a huge differenc in road noise for my 01'.

Dampening necessary?

That's an affirmative, cap'n

I've got all my doors and trunk done...much more quieter interior and response from all drivers - tweets, mids, subs.

Entire cabin/floor soon!

Just a suggestion. Take off the entire b-pillar, including the seatbelt, and mat under it. I saw a huge difference in road noise after the b-pillars were done.

Nothing short of welding your trunk shut will stop rattle completely. And even then your rear deck will rattle. I wont even go into the reasons why you should dynamat though, as it seems your mind is already made up.

How do you take off the b-pillar and the seatbealt. Mine rattle when I hit like a bumo and it is really bothersome. I just punch it a few times and it goes away but I need an alternative to punching it.

At the top of the seatbelt loop, theres a plastic shroud that you can separate like a clamshell. Take that out and expose the bolt. Once the bolt is out you can get at the B pillar trim. Take the top trim off first, then the bottom. You will also have to take out the door jamb trims to get the bottom trim out.
