Replacing stock stereo question...

Is there something I'm supposed to do when I swap out my stock speakers and replace them with new ones to prevent my electric window controls from being disabled? I noticed that when I tried to swap stock for aftermarket, my window controls didn't function properly unless I plugged the stock speakers back in using the stock wiring harness. Did I miss something, or is there a logical explanation for this? I tried to search the sticky, but didn't see anything have a 2000 GXE, non-Bose system.

Thanks in advance!

Although, when doing Dynamat (and redoing his system) on chris's (filtor1) car, both rear window switches didnt get plugged back in. Doing dynamat at 5 am > me.

OK, now I'm getting pissed off about this...

Window controls are fine (must have been sniffing too much wood glue that night). Now the problem is that I've installed the rear speakers, checked the fuses, RCA cables, etc. and I'm getting NO SOUND whatsoever out of the rear speakers!!! I have the stock front ones still in there, wired directly to the head unit via the stock wiring harness. I can't understand why I'm not getting anything out of the new speakers unless it has something to do with the stock wiring harness - it's the only thing I can think of that would cause me not to get any sound out of the rears. Since the amp powering the rears will also be powering the fronts, it has me worried that maybe the amp is dead, although the light comes on and the fuses are all fine. When I tested the new speakers a few days before installation, they did play through the amplifier with no problem at all.

I have a Pioneer 7400MP head unit, Pioneer 6500EQ, Profile California 640SX & 800SX amplifiers. Speakers are Infinity 652.5i and 6002i, 2-way coaxials.

Anybody have a possible solution to this issue? I really need another set of eyes on this one.

Maybe you soldered the harness incorrectly?

Or...and I REALLY hope this isn't it...did you check you balance?

@MetalMaxima...

I didn't do any soldering of any harnesses or anything like that. I'm stumped! I installed everything in my last vehicle, and everything went just fine. I really hope it isn't the amp right now - I'm not ready to buy a new one just yet...
