so i got a speeding ticket..open road...me the only on it..i didnt see the cop and i was speeding..not a beep from the radar..she pulls me over and says i was going 20 over and i ask her to show me her gun thing and it says 52..im like wtf?! how did my radar not go off?!?!? it goes off everytime just not this one..did she somehow turn it on and off? i dont get it

x50 has pop protection me thinks...but not sure if it's enabled by default.

 

it wasnt most likely pop, there pretty rare, it was most likely instant on, in which case she only shoots radar when somone goes by, and since you were the only one on the road she only shot when it was too late for you. sucks man

 

ahh probably either one of those..but i think it mighta been pop since i had it off and if it was one of those turn on/off fast things..the radar would gone crazy with LASER or maybe not but i just turned the pop on so hopefully no more speeding tickets

 

just to prove you can't depend on the detectors 100%. your eyes and common sense are still your best weapons.

 

or u can not do 20 mph over the speed limit and u wont get a ticket. So dont be mad when ur radar detector doesnt go off, its your own fault.

I've pulled quite a few people over and their radar detectors never went off. I'm at a complete loss when it happens, because I'm using simple K or Ka band with instant on.

well, doesn't your passport have a 3 year warranty that would pay for your ticket if it was a radar issued ticket?? i know that my k-40 has that, but its only for a year. oh, n my friend has a passport 8500, n he has the 3 year thing..
