New stereo soon, few questions.

Well my Bose HU in my 96 doesn't like to play CDs at all so I'm stuck listening to the crappy stations around here.

Car stereo isn't really a big thing too me and I don't know a huge deal about it. But I plan on purchasing a Kenwood MP228 HU, Kenwood Ipod adapter, drop in my ADS components, and just buy some cheap Audiobahns for the rear.

I was wondering what type of wiring harness I would have to buy so I can install the HU, and when I install everything will it all be pretty straight foward?

ditch anything audiobahn and I'd look into another brand of h/u such as pioneer or eclipse.

Audiobahn makes decent stuff as long as you go into the lines above the entry level. Most ppl have only used their entry level stuff and base their experiences on that.

As I stated I don't really care much for sound as long as they function well enough for me. I don't blast rap or anything I just listen to my rock at normal levels.

Now back to my question what kind of wiring harness will I need for the HU?

Then you defintley want good sound quality. Just saying that you don't care how it sounds is a big mistake, and you're not going to be happy with it. If you get components for a big booming system, it's going to sound like crap with rock.

My suggestion, go with 1 10" or 12" sub in a sealed box, with a D-Class amp. BTW... if you go with Memphis M-Class subs and amp, you can use a vented box, and have the bass sound really good.

I know, because I have 4 12"s in my truck, with my M-Class amp, and I can PLAY ANYTHING and it sounds awesome. Real punchy bass for rock, and great booms for rap.

I don't want a big booming system. I don't want a sub, I just wanting something to replace the bose. I may consider some different rear speakers, but since I am not getting the answer for my original question I guess I'll just purchase the crutchfield harness and see what happens.

My bad... I thought you were talking about Audiobahn's subs. CDT, Memphis M-Class, Clarion (excellent highs), supposedly Bostons sound good. For rears, you can throw almost anything in there. Heck, pioneers would do it.

Hmm I think I am going to get some Boston S65 for the rear, I'm sure there a lot better than the Audiobahns I was lookin at.
