Opinions on Subs

I was hoping some you audiophiles could give me some input on these two subs:

MB quart PWE304:
12" subwoofer with two 4-ohm voice coils
treated paper cone with polypropylene dustcap and inverted Santoprene surround
cast alloy basket
power handling: 600 RMS watts (300 watts per voice coil)
frequency range: 18-300 Hz
sensitivity: 90 dB
warranty: 3 years

Polk Audio MM2124 :
12" 4-ohm subwoofer
metalized polypropylene concave cone with high-roll butyl rubber surround
non-resonant, heavy-gauge stamped steel basket
suitable for marine use
professional grade, nickel-plated, locking push terminals
power range: 75-400 watts RMS (800 watts peak power)
frequency response: 23-200 Hz
sensitivity: 88 dB
warranty: 3 years

I listen to a variety of music, pop, rock, rap alt.

Thanks in adavance!

No personnal experience with MB Quart. But I have used Polk subs before. They are decent, nothing to go raving about. Just a normal old sub that can hit.

One more thing I have two JL 10W4 would one of subs above outperform two JL 10s?

No. The 10's would have the most potential to move air.

I had the PWD 10" version of the MBQuarts, that got a similar review. The subs are very nice in that they can fit in tiny enclosures, but they are much more SQ than SPL [certainly in a small sealed enclosure]. I had two 10's in the trunk, and they just weren't loud enough for me. If you do consider getting a 12 insted of the 2 10's [I also agree that the 2 JL's would be louder], look into the new Alpine Type R's, they're a very good speaker [especially for the price].

If you're going to take the time to look at JL... take some time to look at Memphis. M-Class subs have great SQ, even in vented boxes, and put out SPL as well. They're a good all around sub.

The two JL's I already own and removed from my 98 Max and was thinking about putting it in my 05 Max. I was going to go with one 12 for space saving and the two 12's that I listed uptop was only 139 ea, I thought why not. I am not into thump but nice clear music very LOUD. I know my JL are pretty good and clear so I may just stick with them, besides I need gas money! Premium is at $3.30 this morning
