Need Stereo Help on 02(?) Max
Need Stereo Help on 02(?) Max
Desperately seeking help. Here's the low down, bought an '02 Max certified pre-owned, had stereo problems, dealer said the head unit was theft recovery radio (not the car, at least I don't think the car), replaced with another 02 head unit, 1st head unit said 'Bose' but was not 6-CD In Dash (Dealer said was not from an '02 originally). Now I have a head unit that doesn't say 'Bose' and an amplifier that does. Only the subwoofer and left front speaker are working, none of the other 3 are. The wiring harnesses are a mess and doesn't look like the factory wiring anymore.
I suspect I have a mismatch between head unit and amp, but am hoping some kind soul can give guidance. Does anyone have a pin-out on an '02 non-bose head-unit and an '02 Bose amp? Can I use an aftermarket device to link the 2 properly?
Should I just rip everything out and start all over?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe he gave you a 5th gen Maxima Bose Radio instead of 5.5, or an I30 one without the changer (bose)
I suggest demanding from your dealer a post August 2002 Dated Head Unit From Bose
While driving my Maxima today it wouldnt accept my cd's so I'm making sure I get the one i specified above. (Mine was preowned with a 5 year all inclusive warranty bought it aug. 18th)

Thanks for the reply.
Unforuntately I recently moved from CA to CO, and the pre-owned dealer I bought from is in CA. Also, when I got my certified pre-owned warranty, it was for power train only, I opted not to buy the electrical for like $900+ bucks, I'm really wishing I had now. The radio problems were there from the beginning and the dealer tried numerous times to fix it, to no avail. They were trying to do it on the cheap and not just order a new HU from Nissan, so I got screwed. Since it's used Lemon Law didn't apply, and I could sue them, but doing it from out of state would just be a pain the a** now and probably not worth the couple of grand I'd get in the best case.
I'm temped to just rip it all out and replace it, but if anyone knows how to hook up an non-Bose HU with a Bose Amp, I'd be interested. . .
