ipod docking question

ipod docking question

I remember reading somewhere on this forum about someone fixing a ipod dock into their max.

I looked at my ipod adaptor (plugs into back of after market hu, not a transmitter or tape) and it has the standard ipod connection cable(the connection is about an inch wide)

Can I plug that into a dock, and then sit my ipod in the dock?

If so, do I need a special dock or anything?

Like I said, I read about someone doing this but cant find it now,

I got the idea for my ipod install from:

All you'll need is the Ipod Docking Station:

Ipod Mini Dock

Ipod Dock

And you'll need the Belkin Auto Kit, A Cigarette Adapter, and a mini jack to RCA cable. All three are shown in this picture:
