Where to get MDF rings?

I dont have the tools to make my own. So I was wondering where I could get some MDF rings to mount my front speakers and crossovers on. Anyone want to make me some?

You want to mount you're crossovers on mdf rings? You can get those ones off ebay for the speakers but I don't know for sure that they'll fit wih those wire terminals.

What's depth on these MDF rings? I'm trying to find 1" MDF and can't find any. All I see is 3/4" and the stock pods have 2" of depth?

I did everything else that people have recommended to achieve more midbass out of door speakers and this is last thing left. If this doesn't get me satisfication I'm dropping these overrated CDT's

Anyone have the dimensions needed for a 2k2 SE (non-Bose)?

You're buddy's asking for inner dim and out dim, but i'm not exactly sure what to measure (I haven't taken my doors off yet). He's also asking if I want flush mount or regular.

(for speaker specs):
http://www.diamondaudio.com/products...ch%20Sheet.pdf
I've got the D661s for the front and the D661i for the rear

Thanks, the noob appreciates it!

Does the thickness or anything matter? That's the part that primarily confused me. THe part about "flush" mount or regular.

well i'll say this. i HAD to use 1" mdf rings because w/out the ring, the window would hit the magnet on the speaker.

Not really. So long as the material is +1/2" you'll be good to go. JUST DON'T FORGET - You need to seal the outer circumference of the ring with a non-hardening clay AND place a small patch of acoustical foam behind the speaker to fully reap the benifits of an mdf ring.

yeah..eric (friendhasmax) put together a box for me awhile back and then i switched out the Diamond 1000.1 for the Eclipse 7232. the system, as me and him see it, is complete. the trunk is still bare. there's always more to do, but my priority is an apartment i just bought and the whole summer i was busy with the US Open. i still have an AudioControl ESP-3 that i haven't connected. if i find time, i'll try and put that together. tomorrow we're relocating the tweeters from the pillar to the door.

Wow, $20 for rings when a 4'x8' sheet of MDF is less than $20. Nice profit.

Yep, I would only need to make 10 rings to pay for my new sander and router as well as the MDF. $20 seems to be the going rate for a decent set of rings these days. I see them for that price alot. Figure under $10 for materials and $10 for the time, and the outcome would be pretty good. I will keep an eye out for more people that need them. If there is enough interest, I will go buy new tools and get something going.

I think for most people it is a metter of space, equipment, and experience. That is why most people would rather just oreder them. I know that's what I did while in my apartment.

Gotta factor in that everyone doesnt want to have to buy the tools and spend the time trying to get them right when someone else can do that for us, $20 is a good deal.

I would have mass-made these, but not all speakers have the same cutouts. IE: Rainbows are larger than DAs, so if I made em to Rainbow size the hole would be too large for the DAs. Of course the reverse effect as well..DA cutouts would need to be opened more for Rainbows. So I just make them on a "as-needed" basis.

Of course I do have all the tools.

You could just make some standard ones then the ones you know are custom have the buyer fax or email the dimensions. $20 is a deal on 2 rings, hopefully this is shipped.
