Who's installed the Bulldog Remote Start system

I took a few hours to put mine in with no success. First my parking lights dont flash when I plug the harness into the unit. I do hear it start up and feel relays working inside but no cigar. I have heard that there is a wiring descrepancy with the system specifically with the maxima. Can anyone that has done the install tell me where it lies and how I can get back on track? I am off for the next three days and want it done yesterday. Thanks peeps!

What exactly do you mean no cigar...could be a ton of things. Accessories come on but it doesnt crank? Cranks but doesnt start? etc

i will try to explain a little better sorry. been up since 445 working 12 hour shifts so please bear with me. when i plug the 18 pin harness into the unit, I hear clicking. the instructions say my parking lights should flash but thats the cigar part I dont get. No crank but when the unit is unplugged and I try to start the car manually, I got a false start with the starter just whining but not engaging. I think its a wiring issue. Whatcha think? Thans for that quick reply also!

i have installed a bulldog rs system, when u plug in the harness in it will flash can click. if ur parking lights arent flashing like they are supposed to, then its the wrong wire hooked up or the parking light output is backwards. did you print a wireing dirgraim??? just check and doubble check ur wires, if ur car is a automatis this should be cake. it took me 3 hours and it was my first time doing it.

get a wireing digram for ur car, and follow the instructions in the book

what model rs did you get, where did u get it? how much was it?

i have the rs 79p i got it from wallmart for $20!!!!!!!! its the only one ive ever seen there

I may have those wires backwards but I am sure as I doublechecked. Triple check helps. I printed the wiring from the remote start thread for reference. I hope I can pull it all together tomorrow morning. I bought the rs 102 model. Thanks fellas.

Just as a reference for anyone reading this thread. You wonder why everyone says DEI is the only thing you should consider for security/keyless/rs...in my year and a half of installing DEI products I think Ive had maybe one have a problem. Stuff like this just doesnt happen, their products are awesome.

Craigmax...not sure what to tell you as far as that parking lights deal. But when you are trying to troubleshoot that remote start...if its not cranking at all make sure your starter kill relay isnt activated. If its cranking but not starting, best way to test is hit remote start, then turn the key to the on position before it starts. If it starts right up, one of your ignition harness wires is bad.

Good luck

Don't forget to make sure that both starter wires are hooked up. Just did my 98 last week and that went fine. Did a test because i wanted to see what would happen if I only hooked up one starter wire and all it did was crank no start.
