ned help choosing new speakers for car.

hey guy..title is pretty self explanitory but i needed to knwow something...please fill me in..i just cant seem to make up my mind, and please leave out any biases that you have about specific brands..thx...here are the companies i am somewhat debating all with their 6.5 component series...but i need to know what you think about each company and any of your experiences as well as the MODEL # that you recommend..thx again

Pheonix gold: im looking at the 6.5 xenon component series

Rainbow: i cant seem to find anything on ebay about it..i dunno what kind of model # or anythign to look at

Diamond Audio: the 6.5 hex components (is there much difference between the s400, s500,and s600 series?)

Hifonics: im looking at the 6.5 zeus components..these i have heard and they sounded pretty descent

Boston Acoustics: I dunno what model number or anything about this company...pretty much as clueless about this as the Rainbow speakers.

ALSO a quick question...when they give the db sensitivity on a speaker (i.e. 87 or 91 db) what is that exactly when it comes to speakers?..how loud it is gonna get?..or the frequency response?..or what?

dB sensitivity is just a measurement of how efficient the speaker is. the speaker is measured at 1 meter, with 1 watt of power. a 92 dB rated speaker will play louder than a 87 dB speaker given the same amount of power.

as for the brand of speakers...i really like my Boston Acoustic speakers. They have a nice warm natural sound to them, which i really like. i'd recommend them

None of the above listed brands are permitted for online sales. Just some companies enforce it more strictly, hence the reason theyre harder to find.

As far as the DAs...S400=4" mid,S500=5 1/4" mid,S600= 6" mid.

Out of those, I would choose Rainbow. The line I have liked the best were the Profi-Vanadiums or Profi's. What is your budget? I have also been very impressed with the SLC Soundline 6.5's as well. I don't think you can go wrong with Rainbow.
