Cd's,DVD are Dead .....

New toy to install ...
I have allways hated having to break my neck changing the Dvd's in my roof mounted player for my six year old.Never mind the fact that half the smeggin things are scratched to bits and I seem to spend half my life polishing them to be able to use them .. So I have got one of these and am going to install it in the glovebox, next to the stacker(which will no longer be needed as a result also) ... Don't you just love technoligy....

I think the DVD and the CD (other then a sales medium) will be dead in 5 years with this stuff comming out.

This means with a 200GB HDD you can store and play

Over 300 DVD Movies!

100,000 MP3's!

Specs:

Enjoy Your movies on TV
You can enjoy your favourite movies and home videos on TV, because Mvix supports most of the video formats including MPEG2, MPEG4, AVI, DivX3.11, 4x, 5x, XviD, DVD(IFO, VOB), VCD(DAT) etc.

Digital Music Box
Mvix can play various audio files such as AC3, MP2, MP3. DTS pass through, WMA, OGG through the TV speaker or your existing audio system.

Photo Album
Mvix can play digital photo files and display them to TV or projector. Store JPEG photos directly from a PC computer through the USB2.0 interface and enjoy a slide show for your family and friends without using a computer.

Portable HDD storage
Mvix uses 3.5" HDD and it works just like a external USB2.0 hard drive when you connect it to your PC and USB2.0 interface can support data transfer rate 480Mbps.

Easy firmware upgrading
Mvix can download latest firmware very easy through internet site and it can support latest divX file format without any trouble.

FM Transmitter (included)
Mvix has an internal FM Transmitter module to broadcast audio through FM frequency (four channel) and you don't need audio cables anymore!

Don't forget that it also has an FM transmitter as well , very handy..
Spoke to the local dealer they are not allowed to export them , but he is getting the US dealer address for me and i will post soon..Pricing is the USA is slightly higher , but not much... You don't even need a DVD player just the screen ... and away you go..

Here is one on ebay :
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3-5-MVIX-Hard...QQcmdZViewItem

This one has a 160gb drive in them , but you can buy them with no drive for $100 cheaper then fit any IDD drive up to 300gb into them.. they are the way of the future. I am going to put a 300 IDD drive into mine picked up one on ebay for $140 ...

Going to connect mine into my front Navigation screen and my rear roof DVD player.

I got in contact with the manufacturer itself and they gave me info on their product..

Please find some information about our product here:
http://www.mvixusa.com/shop/mvixmult...rwfm-p-38.html

If you are interested in purchasing MV-5000U model, you can buy it online or
pls. visit our amazon or ebay stores:

Mvix(USA) Ebay Store: http://stores.ebay.com/Mvix-USA-Inc

Mvix(USA) Amazon zshop: www.amazon.com/shops/mvixusa

But you guys have to remember that this is a very limited product...

this runs on a firmware operating system that cant be upgraded by a regular guys just like you and I... you have to download it from their site and a whole bunch of stufff to it..

Now, I like this product because it does some of what i wanted to do... BUt not all..

I want a system that would work as DVD player, music player (mp3,mp4,WInfiles, etc.) , games and specially a upgradable NAv system that will be realtime????

Sounds great !!!

I still doing research on this and I think I might found the solution.... Car computer...
A computer that runs on 12V and as small as your aftermarket radio....

I will give you guys detail later on..

A day, try a week or two Warren.. I have like 70 DVD alone which belong to my 6 year old that will need to go on it and then maybe some music for me...

However, once its done it will keep her happy for endless hours .. and thus me..too

Kapesport.. I allready have Sat Nav .. So I am just using it as a quick access DVD & music Very Large storage for which the price is hard to beat..+ I can just run RGB into the back of my Nav and into my Rear DVD screen..also have the bonus of just dropping the drive out and into my computer to update or add movies ect..so for my application is just magic.

the only thing broken (if you went that route) is usually the dvd rom..but if you install a bigger HD in it, you dont need the dvdrom

as for longevity, the one i got from ebay has been going for 2 years now.

i dunno its just a suggestion
