Stupid speaker/power question
Stupid speaker/power question
I recenty installed some Pioneer 4-ways speakers TS-A1681R with my std. head-unit. They're OK, but begin to distort easily (volume 10+).
Is the solution to my problem more powah (through new headunit or amp)?

BTW...powah is not a word. Power is.

its the lack of power. you cant make a shiity hu sound good through nice speakers just like you cant make a nice hu sound good through shiity speakers. basically you need everything to work together. you could add an amp but it may not be worth the trouble. i mean how far do you want to go?
Alright guys, thanks for the education.
I'm just getting started. If amping the speakers is adequate, I'll stick with it (I'd like to stay with the factory HU)
I occasionally load the trunk with homedepot crap, so I'll have to weigh the pros and cons of utility vs. audio entertainment before I commit to a sub.
