Need your expert opinion guys

I decided to buy a sound system. nothing complicated ya know? but I need a little push start on what to buy and where? I definitely want 2 12"s and with a budget of approximately $700. Is that good enough? what would you guys recommend?

is that budget for only subs, box, wiring, and an amp? if so thats a nice budget. if you do not have an aftermarket h/u I'd buy one before putting subs in.

yep, what slick said. i'd invest in a HU and aftermarket speakers first before adding any subs. imo i would first want clearer sound before gobs of bass.

Don't listen to these guys, go for amp and subs first. The bottom line is that when you want to start upgrading, do the things you don't have first. You already have a head unit. Upgrade that later. What you don't have is bass. Start getting the whole of the system before upgrading the stuff you already have.

It's a mix, you can go either way. A good H/U will give you less of a headache down the road, but is not necessary to run subs. I was still using my stock H/U in my Frontier with my setup.

As for a budget, that is a really good.

Now you need to go a little farther with questions. Stuff like,

What music do you listen too?
How loud do you want the system to be?

These 2 will allow us to tailor the stuff we recommend. I could recommend Memphis, but you may be looking for something that BOOMS, more than that something that has Sound Quality.

so many arguments can be made for both sides of this i might let other people do it. but for now...any sq enthusiast will say a substage is last and to focus on the higher frequencies in an audio system which can be tuned much more effectively and easily with a nice aftermarket h/u. i understand people liek to boom boom but i like to hear the music im booming to.

i just feel running a stock h/u wired with a hi lo is nothing compared to an aftermarket with 4v or higher preouts thats all.
