so last night i found an optium yellow top battery at a walmart parking lot. i went out to check to see if it had a charged the next day and the guy at Mobil 1 said it would not even turn on the hand-held battery checker thing. should i just toss the battery out or can it be charged?

do not believe what that guy says. get yourself a personal charger from autozone and use it.

i had a red top battery that was dead and autozone said it would not hold the charge. i borrowed a co-workers personal charger and 8 hours later the battery was like new. i never had a problem with the battery for the 2 years that i had it in the car before i sold the car.

 

crap... i just dropped it off at Autozone after I read the first post.

 

My red top has gone completely dead a couple of times and it still works great.

 

What brand is Optium?

 

optium is a new company that just came out. They make batteries that look just like optima but they're better.

 

Excluding the fact that they seem to die real fast for a brand new battery

And also where is the mobil 1 station?

 

Damn, and all this time I thought they only made Blood Glucose Meters...

I have a red top that's dead sitting in my shed. I've tried charging it, but no luck. Chances are, that one was no good. Don't let it bug you.

 

i will say my optima battery has lasted me about 1 hour when my alternator died and it only dropped .7 volts i was at 11.3 volts when i got to my house after an hour drive from where my alt died. And optima batteries need to be trickle charged they dont take well to quick one hour charges they get extremely hot.

 

red tops are teh gay ... i've had 2 go out on me, then I gave up on optima.

they have a warantee, you should look into that def. never had a problem with any of the 5 optimas that i have owned
