help installing line output converter

help installing line output converter

my friend is going to use a line output converter to add an amp and sub to his stock hu on an expedition. nothing big. how do these install, do you splice the leads into the rear speaker outputs? hes gonna use something similar to this line output converter

tap into the rear speaker wires, connect them on the end with wires. Taps are easiest but you can go with using butt connecters. I would heat shrink and solder the connection. From there you run the rca to your amp. Make sure you adjust the voltage on the thing accordingl,

ok, im gonna help him solder it so its secure. so basically you can splice into the rear speakers and have both the rear speakers and the line converter running. i wanst sure if that would effect anything by splicing into them like that. thanks

no wont affect anything. it isnt the cleanest possible signal but it works. long as you dont crank the output on the converter you should be alright.
