Subs you guys could recommend if I want to run 4 subs in trunk WITHOUT SPL overkill?

Yeah, that's right. I'm kicking around the idea of making an insanley ornate fiberglass trunk with 4 10" subs that will no doubt drive me to the brink of insanity one its started. I am looking for recommendations on subs/amps that would be a nice even mix of SQ/SPL...keep in mind there will be 4 of them in there.
Just an idea I am kicking around...

i would say the polk momos. They take an idiotically sized box and could be purchased pretty cheapley online. Theres an offer on crutchfield to buy 3 get one or buy 4 get one, something like that. Would allow you to go with a common chamber box ad save on alot of hassle.
Nah, some Arc's (I'm sure they have 10's in the line), IDQ's, ED's mid line (forgot the letter). There's some good sq 10's out there that will deliver (especially when you have four of them)...Ohh how bout Dayton Reference 10's?
any decent 10" x4 will give you the spl and sq you need. its not quite the displacement of 2 15's of the same sub, but close enough to get the output you are lacking. more subs=less distortion due to less excursion=more sq. more subs=more spl.
edit: also you may need to pick a different amp based on your sub slection and impedence loads. id try to figure out what subs then get a new amp pending on how big your sub amp is right now. i like the AA assassin series coming out.

I would say 4 pioneer 10s because of quality and low price, w/pioneer class d amp. Same with mtx, get the base 10s and a mtx class d. You could also look into Infinity 10s.
If you want to go with 2 class d amps, go with subs that are single 4 ohm vc. If you only want to go with one amp then get subs that are 4ohm dvc.

i dunno to this very day my impp pioneer subs had solid sq for the price. however, when you have more than $50 to spend on a speaker there is no comparison.
box design plays a bigger role in subs than people think.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys...keep throwin' em at me!!!! Do you have a link to the site for these subs?

these look nice there only 7's but i have heard good things about them and there not that expensive and you could go with a few more than 4.

i say no matter what subs you go with, 4 10's will yield plenty of SPL...so might as well go for Sq
better questions...what you gonna power them with? whats your budget per sub?
I would look into Diamond D3, perhaps Don will give you break on the Arc v2 subs, maybe IDv3's, perhaps some Rainbow subs left over at Arc (call Don) at insane clearance prices....as Steve mentioned DIY subs as well.

lol almost everyone is biased with what you should choose, but so am i, id say go for Eclipse aluminum 10's, great spl, and even better clarity and SQ, plus they look awesome, i garuntee you wouldn't be dissapointed

other than that id agree with diamonds, i have got a chance to listen to some myself and they're pretty tight sounding(as opposed to loose, not slang) subs

But if he has $500 or more to spend on 4 10s, more power to him. I would jump on the JL bandwagon but there wasn't anymore room.

DON, I was waiting for you to come in. What would you recommend that would work well for what I am looking for? I guess I would want to spend around $600 for the 4 subs, we'll talk about the amps later. I DON'T want something that power-hungry that'll require me to get some insanley priced amp.

Give me a call and we can figure something out, or just leave me your number again.
