updating speakers on an 02 Bose system

i was thinking about getting some new speakers for my 02 with the bose system. will the speakers with the stock HU make much of a difference? I eventually plan to get rid of the bose, but for now i just want some new speakers. is it worth it? recommendations?

I just got a new head unit speakers amp and subwoofer for my 02 with bose

The bose unit wont bring out much of your new aftermarket speakers

I suggest saving up and then swapping both

A good head unit and speakers are relatively inexpensive these days and trust me theyll be a marked improvement over the bose

I am actually planning on swapping out the Bose sooner or later too. I have a question and since I am new here, I cannot start a new thread until i reply 15 times. In my 96 max, each speaker had an amp but is this the case in my 03 max also, or is there one amp for all the speaker? I ask because my rear left speaker went out completely (there is no sound) and my front left is all muffled when I play a cd but fine when I play the radio. The dealer thinks it could be the head unit (in which case i would replace with a new nav HU) but someone else said it might be the amp which would mean i have to replace everything. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hotshot--save up and replace both. You wont be able to run aftermarket components off the Bose amp anyway.

bkmax--there is 1 amp for all the speakers, located on the under side of the rear deck. You should swap out everything also though, as Bose is infamous for a ton of problems, including the sub cutting in/out, the LF speaker cutting in/out, etc.

Thanks for the quick response man. I am so fed up with the Bose. I am buying a head unit (the pioneer avic d1) very soon and then replacing the speakers soon afterwards.
