Uni-bit through the fire wall. Easiest to go from under the dash.

follow the red wire. then look in your max n youll see a lil plug. take the plug out and youll see the whole.

the wire will end up under the steering wheel to the right a lil bit

after that just hid it under the rug and trew the back seats

The easiest way to route a power wire in the 5th gen is through the diver-side front wheel well.

(1) Remove wheel
(2) Remove pop-tabs for wheel well.
(3) Run the wire from the battery through the OEM hole in the fender for the OEM wiring harness.
(4) You will see that the OEM wiring harness runs through the firewall and down by the dead pedal.
(5) Run your wire through here.

No drilling required.

Since this is sort of on topic i'll post it here....The forum wont let me post a new thread and was wondering if a 2 15' slot ported box with dimensions 40x 17dx16h, would fit in a 5 or 5.5 maxima. Someone please help me out and take some measurements, I need a new car, and will get a max if it can fit this box...thanks

or you could pick a car, then see if it fits, then build another box if it doesnt. i have a 40x18x12 box in my 5.5 gen and its a tight squeeze.

well you could go about another .5" I'd guess. but i have to turn my box to fit it in because the opening is only so deep. so id say depth is the issue at hand.

Seriously, I'm not blaming the poster, but this question comes up all the time!

This time somebody PLEASE make this a sticky.

In a 5.5 gen, you do what Metal Maxima suggested. Or a slight variation: you run the wire through the hood release cable hole, which is right near the main harness. Pictures:

Just for clarification, will 0ga fit through the (into cabin) gromet?

I agree about the sticky. Or in the general sticky with all of the basic wireing/routing and stock Bose ?'s answered.

Actually, I don't think anything bigger than 4 awg will fit through the hood release cable passage (I was looking for the wire size but I don't think he listed what he's using). But you'd use the same procedure for the route Metal suggested, which is through the main harness passage, and I'm almost certain 1/0 would fit through there.

Cool. I use the other method b/c I don't want to take customers wheels off. But for self installation, I like this method you both suggested.
