Hmm wonder why it wound up on ebay... bet he knew about it?

Sounds like the alpine should be a very good alternative. Maybe even wait for the new stuff thats coming out. Good luck man. Have you brought it up with the seller at all?

blah blah blah, not all world champs use Alpine. Regardless of how good the piece may or may not be, I refuse to buy/use or carry Alpine anymore.

Why? Because their decks suck as far as long term reliability?

I hear ya. I know you know stuff well from a business owners and installers perspective. I'm not at all a fan of Alpine the company or their products as a whole or anything, but specifically the 701 Combo is hard or lemme say IMPOSSIBLE to beat for the price, right now at least.

It's more flexible than the DRZ, cheaper (and a lil more flexible) than the P9, and the World Championships (including best in show overall) at the very least says it gets the job done, which is more than we can say for the alto right now.

Believe me, I'm not Mr. Alpine rules the world. I woulnd't have an Alpine HU if it wasn't so directly tied to their processor (I think I'd have a denon or something classy like that if the processing could be added on cheap). If Eclipse comes out with a combo that is AS FLEXIBLE (not a little less) AND AFFORDABLE as the Alpine combo, I'd happily make the switch...... and get it from you. I'm all about there being more choices out there for 3 way fronts. Right now it's TOO limited....but given what there is now, and being on a budget, Alpines the way to go.

I'm assuming you're switching to Eclipses new setup and not the Rockford What do you know about it in terms of flexibility of x/o points/slopes and EQ? And price? I'm definately interested.

I agree completely Steve. I have nothing against the unit at all, just Alpine that Im against. It is indeed a great unit that nobody has yet to touch in that price range.

The Alto piece is extremely nice, just not working. If it did work how its supposed to with no issues, Im sure people would gladly pay even the sub $600 retail price for it.

Im just waiting on new products and yes most likely Eclipse will be used for my transport. Im still keeping the DXE for the time being. Ill stict with my very flexible Analog piece.

I know a bit about crossovers, flexibility, slopes and EQs.

Not yet. I waiting for my diodes to come in, at which point in time I will fix the Alto, then fark roudn with it for maybe a week more, then see where it takes me.

With the new grounding loop, my only remaining problem may be the location, but we'll see...
