nope, no need. they're more of a strain on your system. just make sure you use the correct size wires and have a good clean ground.

I Suggest a battery upgrade, a red or yellow top, as well as an upgraded ground to the battery that is your best bet.

Another NO vote here as well. Proper wire size and a nice Yello Top under the hood should be plenty.

thanks for your inputs!!

I got Q-Logic sealed/ported enclosure, and getting 4 gauge wires...
can't wait to get everything set up in the trunk...

If my stock battery don't do the work, i'll do battery upgrade...

thanks again, guys!

I'd say no. Depending on how much you get your yellow top for, a comparable www.kinetikaudio.com battery would work well also.

thanks for good info, NisAznMonk.

btw, you guys are talking about replacing the stock battery, not getting extra battery in the trunk, right?? just making sure...

yea just replace the one up front, and add a 0 Gauge ground. When you replace the battery follow the negative cable and look to see how its grounded. You will want to replace it immediatly after seeing it . Usually its all corroded and green.

I vote yes. I recommend 1f/500watts rms. Not only gives your system more juice but also functions as a voltage stiffener. I'd also upgrade the big 3 (esp. ground). Don't waste your money on a yellow top unless you wanna drain your system ALL the way down and slow charge the battery back up. Spend it on an upgrading the alternator.

The only way you really know you need a capacitor is after your system is installed and u have it cranked at night and your headlights dim when the strong bass hits, then you probably should get one.

my headlights do not dim but i still need the big 3 done and/or a new alti...NOT a new Cap. a big NO vote on the cap. send me the $ and ill put it to better use than you can do with a cap.

This cap is doing about as good of a job for this guy as one would do in your car.

nope, he can just upgrade his grounds and it should fix the dimming. caps are a waste of money imo.

nope, HID just maintains an arc, not a glowing filament to produce light. plus HID consumes less power than halogens.

alright, I just got my amp/sub installed.
and all the lights are dimming with bass. and...yes HIDs are dimming too, but very lightly.

I'm thinking about getting capacitor or battery upgrade...

do the BIG 3 also in addition to a new battery. how big is the stock alti? one 600 watt class d amp should not dim HIDS.

a capacitor that you can easily find is a waste of money in ANY system, for a capacitor to really make a difference it would have to be closer to 50 farads than the 1/2 or one farad ones they sell. it will not help make it any cleaner or anything, here is why the capacitor only holds a charge momentarily, but when the voltage starts to drop it immediately discharges to oppose the change in voltage and bass notes in a song are longer than a capacitor takes to discharge so it helps for an instant then youre back where you started.
