So I'm strongly thinking about getting a subscription to Sirius and getting one of their portable receivers. My question is: how do I connect it to the sound sytem I have in my car?

I see that there are car kits available, but those just look like they're for mounting the receiver, not actually connecting it to the sound system. Is there some way that the receiver connects to the head unit or some other way that it can plug into the car audio system?

Its run through an FM Modulator, either hardwired or wireless, your choice. Unless you can buy the aux in adapter depending on what year your max is, and run it aux by using the changer button.

Thanks man. Does the FM modulator usually come with the receiver or do I have to buy it separately?

Wireless ones are built into the receiver. Hardwired ones are 19.99, plus two antenna adapters if necessary at ~10 bucks a pop.
