assorted stereo questions

I have a 2000... i tried searching but i kind of have to make a purchase soon so i figured i will go right out and ask a few questions... hopefully i dont get too flamed for newbie questions lol.... anyway... what sizes are the speakers and the 2 tweeters... what's the biggest size speakers and tweeters that will fit without making any modifications.... finally in terms of value what are the best brands of speakers and tweeters to get keeping in mind that im only hoping to have good clean sound and hook it up to 1 12'' pioneer premier sub with a power acoustik amp and an alpine head unit... nothing too expensive just something upgraded from the bose speakers that i will be satisfied with... thanks.

I believe someone has a one off 9 inch woofer. Tweets go big or go home, Supertweeters from radio shack with 1000watt capabilities PWNT!!! I would say a 1 inch should suffice or horns .... finally in terms of value what are the best brands of speakers and tweeters to get keeping in mind that im only hoping to have good clean sound and hook it up to 1 12'' pioneer premier sub with a power acoustik amp and an alpine head unitPower acoustic for the lose Dependent on your price range, and how much deadeing and care you throw at the installation, you could get away with a lower line set of rainbows from the Don (Pearlmax) and really float your boat happy.... nothing too expensive just something upgraded from the bose speakers that i will be satisfied with... thanks.Or you could go with something else eclipse, diamond, dls, etc. Comes in what you like and what you want to spend and prep
Personally i say go to a local shop listen to your material on their speakers, see what you like and dont and that will help people get a better idea of what you like and are into.

I personally loved my diamond hex six's with the silk tweeters and a kicker RMB6 mini sub in the doors of my other car. From reading online Id like to get ahold of a set of slc or possibly dls's from don. BUt i got to hear em. So again all subjective on what you want to do, install and, how much can you walk away from the table still holding.

your close to don it looks like swing in check out what he has and im sure he can help you out alot more.

Generally components offer a better sound. If looking into lower priced brands theres a PLETHORA of stuff out there.

I don't know about that, the last time I saw him before this was over a year ago before I moved. Now I'm back and he looks like he's lost some poundage.

i mean i was hoping around 150 if thats possible... if less is possible then less than that... only because i want to start upgrading performance on my car but i figured i should complete one upgrade before i move to another... if 150s not possible then i guess the next closest thing... once again keep in mind i need 2 sets of speakers and tweeters.

2 sets of speakers and tweeters? For a bit over that budget you could get some of CDT's low end components with some CL-6 midbass for the rear prob end up around $170

You can mix and match. For what you're after pioneer and alpine would do fine.

im thinking about 2 sets of Alpine SPS-170A 6-¾" 2-way Speakers for the front + rear and Pioneer Tst110 7/8 Inch Hard Dome Tweeters... is there anything wrong with this setup running on my amp and sub and head unit i currently have? and how much better than the bose speakers should i expect? ... for that setup im looking at about 150

Pioneers would suffice as rear fill, nothing more, nothing less. Look into CDT...

For the front you just need midbass. Plus a tweeter, your best bet is to go with a matched component setup.
