System goes off and On. What's going on?

Ok I have a Pioneer dvd player (AVH-P5700DVD). I recently installed a Phonix Gold Xenon 1200.1 Mono block and Two 12" Xenon subs. I have a Stinger 1.0 Farad cap as well. For the past week my system has not given me any problems. Just yesterday I was driving and my system when off then on. After a while it happened again and my track selection buttons didn't work. I got home turned off the car and back on and it my buttons where workng again. My volume workd fine. I chckd my wiring and everythng looks fine. It happened again today except that I turnd the volume all the way down when droping off my bro to school and when I got there i raised the volume and again my track selector was not workng. I turnd the HU off and back on again and finally workd. I'm confused. Wht the hell is going on? Sorry for the long thread.

When the selections go out is it ONLY the specific buttons or does the entire face go out?

entire face goes out as if I turned off my car and then it goes back on. My volume works, but the other buttons dont not untill I manualy turn the radio off and then back on.

Def HU related. Doesn't sound like a power issue.

I dont think it was me that was right then. I blamed the HU itself. Although a loose terminal doesnt explain some buttons not working, while others constantly do work.
