Adding a shock sensor to stock security system.. Quick question

Hey, figured I might have better luck asking in here. I'm going to add a shock sensor to my stock keyless / security system. I found a helpful how to link in the 4th gen FAQ's:

http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...howpage&pid=13

But, the sensor that I'm going to install is a 2 stage sensor that includes a warn away trigger. Since it has this feature, my sensor has 2 trigger wires, one for stage 1, and another one for stage 2. The above link says to attach the trigger wire to the yellow / black from the BCM, but since I have two trigger wires on my sensor, what should I do here? Should I tie both stage 1 and 2 into the yellow / black, or is there a different wire to which I should solder the stage 1 trigger?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me, and i apologize if this is a dumb question. I just wanted to get the opinion of people who are more in the know than myself, before I screw up and have to call FDNY to put my car out lol

Just use one of the two triggers. Preferably the full trigger.

The only "stupid" questions are the ones that go unasked.

Another question, out of curiosity. If I wanted to use both stages of this sensor, is there an easy way to go about doint that, other than attaching the stage 1 trigger to a different switch wire? ( I'm guessing there's not, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask). I'm more than satisfied with stage-2 alone, but this just crossed my mind.

Thanks!

I'm a newbie here and since I can't start a thread yet I figured I might as well post in here hoping to get somebody's attention who can answer a few questions regarding a shock sensor.

I started installing one earlier today and the sensor that I bought differs slightly than the one pictured in the DIY guide here:
http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...howpage&pid=13

Mine looks like
this:

The wiring is my main problem. On the DIY guide it states that
This
was done on a 97 max but I assume the wire colors will be the same on all 4th gens.
Connect the power wire of the shock sensor to the pink wire and the ground to black.
I need to know if I'm correct in assuming that the red wire on my unit goes to the pink wire and that the black wire on my unit is the ground wire that goes to black. (it may seem obvious that these go together but I'm just double checking)

Additionally, the next step in the guide instructs me to
Next remove the middle plug and access the yellow wire with the black tracer on
it(pic3). This wire leads to the hood switch. This is where you will connect the
signal wire of the sensor (it's usually blue).
I need to know where this yellow wire with black tracer is, on my BCM it appears to be a yellow wire with a grey thing in it. Pictured here:

Finally, one final question. What am I supposed to do with the green wire attached to my sensor? If you look on the picture above on one end of the set of wires the green wire coming from the other side is unattached. While the green wire that comes out of the other end makes a loop and then goes back into the same side it came out from. Do I do anything about this?

Thanks in advance for your comments, and sorry about the long rambling post but the front console of my car is ripped out of it's cavity right now and I'd like to get this finished up so I can start driving it again.

I actually haven't had the time to install my sensor yet, but I'll see if I can help you until Pearl96Max ( great guy ) or someone else steps in. For the first part of your question, you're correct, all you have to do is attach the red to the pink, and the black to ground.

For your second question, what I would do, is go under the hood, and have a look at the wire coming out of the hood switch. In this picture, the hood switch is circled on the left:

If the wire coming out of this switch matches the wire that you're seeing in the console, then you should be on the right track. I can't tell you exactly what that green wire is, but my best guess would be that your sensor is a 2 stage sensor, and the green wire is either the stage 1 (warn away sound ) or stage 2 ( full alarm ) trigger. On my sensor, the stage 1 trigger wire is white, while the stage 2 trigger is blue.

PS, the page to which this image belongs is here, incase you'd like to refer to it: http://www.rcreations.com/public/CoD...e,0t,P=30.html

Thanks, and yes, it is a 2 stage alarm.
