Pioneer wiring harness help!

Been trying to wire this headunit up for a few days now, and with no luck I am desperatly asking for some advice.

I have the wires matched up correctly except for a few in which Im going to ask some advice.

I bought a harness adapter from work so I wouldn't have to cut the stock harness, and there is an orange Illumination wire coming off of it and I don't know what to hook it up to. There is also a brown wire called "Door Switch" and a White wire with a yellow stripe that says "Alarm". Where the hell do these go?

The headunit beeps shortly when you hit source and then it just dies, I have never got the faceplate to light up yet.

Can anyone help me?

Where are these wires coming from? The HU harness or the one u bought to connect to ur factory harness? As long as u connect the HU wires with the matching colors of the harness that connects to the factory harness u should be ok. I have installed my HU on a Accord, Altima, and now my 6th gen and nver hooked those wires u mentioned. Never had a problm without those being connectd. Make sure ur wires are connectd right and to test ur HU jst connect ur Black cable (ground), Red (power), and Yellow (memory) Ur HU should go on and remain on. If that doesnt work then there might be somethng wrng with ur HU. If it works connect the speaker leads and remote if using an amp and u should be done.

Illum does not need to be connected, either does the brown one and the white one doesnt need to be installed either. It may be that the Illum is connected to the wrong place right now, or that the Illum is actually necessary on this unit. From the sounds of it you have an older pioneer unit like mid to late 90's, is this true?
